Their life in brief
Born in 1656 in a Mohawk village, Kateri lost her family to smallpox and carried its scars and impaired vision throughout life.
After baptism she faced ridicule and fled to the mission at Kahnawake, where she lived prayer, service, and consecrated love until her death at twenty-four.
