Their life in brief
Born in the early second century, Justin studied several philosophies before recognizing in Christ the fullness of the truth he sought.
He taught in Rome, wrote defenses of Christianity to imperial authorities, and was executed with companions for refusing to deny Christ.
“Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope.”
1 Peter 3:15
What Justin Martyr teaches us
Faith need not fear sincere questions. Truth welcomes careful thought and asks that understanding become witness.
Pause and reflect
01Where is God inviting me to practice reasoned faith today?
02Who may need the grace of this saint’s witness through my actions?
Let us pray
Saint Justin Martyr, pray for me. Help me follow Jesus with reasoned faith and respond faithfully to the people and duties God has entrusted to me. May your witness draw me into deeper prayer, generous service, and confident hope in Christ. Amen.
Prepare a brief, gentle answer for why your faith gives you hope.
