Their life in brief
Born in Lisbon in 1195, Anthony first joined the Augustinians and later became a Franciscan after encountering the witness of martyrs.
His preaching, scriptural learning, and care for people made him beloved across Italy and southern France before his early death near Padua.
“The word of Christ must dwell in you richly.”
Colossians 3:16
What Anthony of Padua teaches us
The word of God bears fruit when it moves from memory into mercy, justice, and a life visibly shaped by Christ.
Pause and reflect
01Where is God inviting me to practice scriptural wisdom today?
02Who may need the grace of this saint’s witness through my actions?
Let us pray
Saint Anthony of Padua, pray for me. Help me follow Jesus with scriptural wisdom and respond faithfully to the people and duties God has entrusted to me. May your witness draw me into deeper prayer, generous service, and confident hope in Christ. Amen.
