Litany of the Holy Spirit

Pray. Reflect. Rest in God.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

The Litany of the Holy Spirit.

Lord, have mercy on us.

Christ, have mercy on us.

Lord, have mercy on us.

Christ, hear us.

Christ, graciously hear us.

God, the Father of heaven,

Have mercy on us.

God, the Son, Redeemer of the world,

Have mercy on us.

God, the Holy Spirit,

Have mercy on us.

Holy Trinity, one God,

Have mercy on us.

Holy Spirit, Spirit of wisdom and understanding,

Have mercy on us.

Spirit of counsel and fortitude,

Have mercy on us.

Spirit of knowledge and piety,

Have mercy on us.

Spirit of faith and hope,

Have mercy on us.

Spirit of holy fear and love,

Have mercy on us.

Spirit of peace and joy,

Have mercy on us.

Spirit of patience, perseverance, and goodness,

Have mercy on us.

That you would preserve our body and soul, as your temple, from every stain,

We beseech you, hear us.

That you would confirm us in your grace,

We beseech you, hear us.

That you would enlighten those who have gone astray and bring them back to the true fold,

We beseech you, hear us.

That you would take us all into the company of the elect,

We beseech you, hear us.

Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world,

Spare us, O Lord.

Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world,

Graciously hear us, O Lord.

Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world,

Have mercy on us, O Lord.

Christ, hear us.

Christ, graciously hear us.

Let us pray.

We beseech you, O Holy Spirit, descend with your light and consolation lovingly into our souls. Enlighten our understanding, and consecrate the hearts you have sanctified as your temples. Come and bring us God’s blessing and peace; console the afflicted, strengthen the weak, instruct the wavering, rouse sinners to repentance, and enkindle in every heart the fire of divine love, that all people may praise and adore you, together with the Father and the Son, one God, world without end.

Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.
